Ruby general hospital, Kolkata, was
inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Jyoti Basu on 25th April 1995.
Mother Teresa started the Cardiac Unit in this hospital on 28th October 1995.

   General Hospital is a 278 bedded tertiary care hospital.
2. It
   comprises 5 Operation Theatres, CTVS ICU, ITU, ICCU, NICU, Cath Lab, and
   daycare Services. It houses Radiology Services, 24 hours Emergency Trauma
   care, Pathology Services, round the clock ambulance, pharmacy, and other
   diagnostic services.
3. It has
   dedicated nearly 75 beds exclusively for delivering emergency and critical
   care management to its patients. 
4. It
   offers advanced MRI facilities, 128 slice CT scan, MRCP, MR Angio,
   including all sorts of CT Scans, CT Angio, and Cardiac CT.
5. It
   features state of the art linear accelerator Clinac iX with FFF
   (Flattening filter-free) technology, which is the first of its kind in
   India. 
6. It
   offers radiotherapy treatment for all types of cancer that includes the
   basic conventional technique, and more sophisticated Intensity-modulated
   radiotherapy (IMRT), Image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), Rapid Arc (VMAT)
   and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) techniques in a single machine.
